Four people were declared dead at the scene, said ER24 spokesman Derrick Banks.
He said one of the four injured was critically hurt.
The others suffered serious neck and back injuries.
All four were taken to hospital.
The accident happened on Edendale Road, near Henley Dam, shortly after midnight.
The cause was not known. Police were investigating. - Sapa
