|||Durban - Two people were shot dead when robbers held up passengers and the driver of a municipal bus in Sydenham in Durban on Thursday night.
The robbery happened at 5.50pm as the bus, which was bound for Ntuzuma E section, was making its way up Moses Kotane (Sparks) Road.
“Two men, who were already on the bus, got up and produced guns,” police spokesman Jay Naicker said.
“A struggle ensued and the men opened fire.”
They then jumped off the bus and ran away, said Naicker.
“One was arrested about a kilometre away. He had a gunshot wound to his leg.”
The man was taken to hospital.
