|||Durban - A man accused of shooting dead a fellow worker at King Edward VIII hospital appeared briefly in the Durban Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
Khulekani Aubrey Ntuli, 43, will be back in court on July 23.
Prosecutor Surekha Marimuthu said the ballistics reports were outstanding and would be available in six weeks.
Ntuli's lawyer, Bongani Cele, abandoned the bail application because he needed to study the facts of the case.
Ntuli, who worked at the Durban hospital, allegedly shot and killed Sipho Mfayela, 54, on February 28, after he was told the results of his misconduct disciplinary appeal.
“The victim was shot twice on the chest and died while receiving treatment,” Captain Thulani Zwane said at the time.
Ntuli was arrested in Hillbrow, Johannesburg, in May after being on the run for almost three months. He faces charges of murder, pointing a firearm, and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. - Sapa
