|||Durban - Six men are expected to appear in the Chatsworth Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday on a string of charges including carjacking and business and armed robbery that occurred in Chatsworth.
The men, aged between 18 and 22, were denied bail when they appeared in court on June 24.
Police said the men had allegedly threatened their victims at gunpoint and robbed them of their cars or cellphones.
Police spokesman, Captain Thulani Zwane, said police recovered a Fiat Uno and Blackberry cellphones.
Zwane said the phones had been taken from a group of children who had been playing soccer at Shallcross stadium.
Police have also linked the suspects to a carjacking at the Bangladesh Market.
Chatsworth police are appealing to victims of robberies or carjackings in the vicinity of Road 1104 or Bottlebrush informal settlement to contact Lieutenant Colonel BI Cele or Detective Warrant Officer Robin Singh at 082 5568 765 or 031 451 4245.
