|||Durban - A man will appear in the Ntuzuma Magistrate's Court on charges of hijacking and possession of stolen property, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Wednesday.
“KwaMashu crime prevention, with the Durban flying squad, responded to a complaint of a carjacking at KwaMashu Hostel where a-52-year-old victim had been accosted by one suspect with a firearm,” said Captain Thulani Zwane.
The alleged hijacker shot at the car's owner on Tuesday evening at the hostel. The owner ran away, leaving his car behind. He called police and the tracking company.
“The tracker signalled them to a section of shacks in Xolani Road where they spotted the vehicle with two suspects standing outside and one in driver's seat.
“When (police) members approached, two suspects fired shots in the members' direction and ran away. The suspect who was inside the vehicle was arrested,” said Zwane. - Sapa
