Twenty people have been injured in an accident involving eight vehicles in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, on Tuesday morning, paramedics said.
The accident took place on New Greytown road around 7.15am and involved two taxis, five bakkies and one car, ER24 spokesman Derrick Banks said.
“We've got 20 people injured of which four are serious and the remaining 16 have minor to moderate injuries.”
The cause of the accident was not yet known. The injured were stabilised and taken to various hospitals in the area.
“The whole road has been closed due to the accident. Authorities are on the scene,” said Banks. - Sapa
