A 30-year-old man was found burnt to death in his shack in the Pietermaritzburg area, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.
|||Pietermaritzburg - A 30-year-old man was found burnt to death in his shack in the Pietermaritzburg area, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said on Tuesday.
“The man was staying in the back room of his tuck shop when the incident happened,” ER24 spokeswoman Vanessa Jackson said.
According to paramedics, the man's family went to look for him and found the doors to his home locked, with signs of a fire.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene and they had to break into the shack.
“They found that the man had suffered extensive burn injuries and there were no longer any signs of life upon initial assessment,” she said.
He was declared dead at the scene. - Sapa
